What is 'Suspense'?
Suspense happens in both fiction and non-fiction. It makes the audience uncomfirmed as to what is going to happen next in the film. Suspence can happen at any moment, whether it be the title, the characters body language, the plot or what the character(s) says.
Another way of creating suspense is by what one specific character does or says throught the film, or even in the opening scene, because it makes the audience wary about what that character is going to do. For example, at the beginning of the movie 'It', the clown doesn't say much but by his body language and facial expressions, the audience would be scared as to what Pennywise is going to do throughout the film.
